Aragua, from high mountains to beautiful beaches

The Aragua state is located in the north-central coastline, and its surface includes 21859.2 square miles which hold, in the present time, approximately over 2 million people.
Its geography is formed by valleys which go from the hill country side of the inter coast line to the Valencia lake borders, including little streams which connect with the sea through the Caribbean Sea creating the “Ocumare of the Coast, Cata and Choroní” ports.  An important part of the territory, is made of mountain shape prominences, where the “Tovar Colony” and the “Henry Pittier National Park” are located; The “Tovar Colony” is the first non Spanish settlement founded with 387 German immigrants who came in the middle of the XIX century and decided to recreate the “Black Jungle” from Germany, and it is, nowadays, one of the biggest tourist attractions of the state.  On the other hand, the “National Park Henry Pittier” becomes a refuge of huge bird migrations from more than 500 different species, almost the 50% of the country’s bird-families and the 7% of the world.
Aragua has had the most amazing urbanization and industrialization development from the last decades, in spite of the decrease of the farm activities it is worth because of the sugar cane production from its strong valleys.

As an interesting tip: Choroní and Colombia Port have become in a little valley of incredible beauty, due to its exuberant vegetations and hidden waters that have given birth an incredible tourist organization which includes: shelters, lodges and many other facilities.
