Miranda, between the rural and the urban

Located to the north of the country and with 4.939,90 square miles, Miranda shows a great contrast between the urban and the rural. In it, there are several urban centers which become the east part of the city of Caracas, with nearby zones bordering the city like Guarenas, Guatire, Caucagua, or its capital Los Teques.  Also, here in this state can be found the Barlovento’s depression, a highly rural zone known by its sowings of cacao and its always green vegetation, which shows a lower density of population in compare with the rest of the state in which its inhabitants are mainly agriculturists and fishermen.

Among the greatest tourist attractive are the beaches of the mountainous area of the coast, its towns, with folkloric traditions like the “Dancing Devils of Yare”, its mountainous climate towns like Los Teques and “San Antonio De Los Altos” and the main cities of the state.

Also, natural patrimonies can be found, highly visited by tourists, like the “Natural Monument Alfredo Jahn Cave”, the Indian Caves Park, The Avila National park, “Guatopo” National Park and the Town of “The Jarillo” among many others; and many important beaches due to its strong waves like: “Chirimena, Chirere, Carenero, Puerto Francés and Los Totumos”.
