Lara, Venezuela’s musical capital

The economical boost of this state has motivated a growing demographic dynamism which places the state in one of the main population catchers of the country and it is famous due to an endless tourist attraction that are not just in the city but in the closer towns as well.

Barquisimeto is the capital city of the state and it has a huge commercial, cultural, educational and manufactures activity. It has been called the Venezuela’s musical capital due to its excellent composers and performers.  The city is known as the city of dusks and also because of its precise urban order.  Among the worthy edifications to admire we can find:  The San Francisco Church, The Lara History Center, The Barquisimeto’s Athenian, the Suarez Theater, the Barquisimeto Art Museum and the Colonial Museum “Lisandro Alvarado”.  Among the interest places we can find:  The “Ayacucho Park”, The Metropolitan Cathedral and the “Zoo and Botanic Garden”.

It is recommended to visit the near towns of Sanare and Quibor, which are agricultural and artisan centers; the Tocuyo is very appreciated by its musical production and history; Carora, famous by its milky products and pictures; and finally Cubiro one of the oldest towns from Venezuela and also one of the richest in traditional art and culture.
