Detla Amacuro, land of the water ways

Furrow by hundreds of rivers and streams from the Delta Amacuro state, it is mainly a rural place and within its population can be found Indians from the Warao ethnic, who are known by their “Tirite” fiber baskets, their dances and their pagan-religious parties.

Known as the land of the water ways because of the Orinoco River which flows into the Atlantic Ocean, this river mixture gives the state a great tourist attraction by forming virgin islands and beautiful beaches that have been transformed into bathing places.

Its capital, Tucupita, was founded in 1848, although it was already in the Sir Walter Raleigh’s maps with the Orinoco name, the city focus the majority of its urban population in administrative, commercial and service functions.

Full of natural beauties, is one of the most visited states by those who seek for a beautiful and peaceful place.  Among its main attractions it is important to point out the “Delta from Orinoco-Mariusa” National Park and the “Toro and Acoima Falls”.
