It is the smallest of the Andean states and is located in the top of northern side. The state counts with 5.358,71 square miles of extension which combine the best of history, art and traditional culture of the country; where its beautiful landscapes and its calm atmosphere are melted in order to make of this state, an oasis of peace and tranquility.
Its mountainous chain extends from the Mucuchíes bleak plateau, next to Mérida’s border to the Carora’s depression; granting a great diversity of landscapes and climates which vary according to the height and the wind: in the plateaus the temperature is between 41 to 60,8 ºF, in the mountainous zones, and in the plain, 95 ºF.
Trujillo is an agricultural state by tradition. It is the main producer of pineapples and garlic at a national level; and one of the main producers of coffee, sugar cane, Potatoes, bananas and different flowers which bloom in their vast and foggy peaks. Also, the state is dedicated to the mining, cattle dealing and the tourism, which are in constant growth.
Its capital city, Trujillo, has the same name, and it is in the heart of the “Castán River”. A city of great historical importance because it was the first city to be founded on the Andean region and is, in addition, a center of important cultural, historical and religious institutions that will make of your visit an enriching experience. The Trujillo state also has an important number of populations placed in the capital city surroundings, those populations have countless of cozy landscapes and treasures of the popular art such as: Boconó, Santa Ana, Burbusay and Betijoque, among other cities.
