21859.2 square miles of changing views, where the prevailing landscapes are the plains, crossed by rivers which flow in the majestic “Apure River”, and also fits, as a borderline axe of the state. The physiographic distinctiveness that this state has, creates a diversity of views such as bleak plateaus, mountains, hill sides, valleys and alluvial evenness which define an irregular mosaic that represents the magnificent Venezuelan plains. The grounds are mostly the alluvial type, in addition to a plain topography, become one of the most perfect soils for the farming activities development.
The state possesses enough water, watering system, fertile lands, grazes, wood forests, functional communication ways and plenty of oil resources. However, in spite of the growing oil boom, the economic of the state is still based on the agriculture, with a great possibility for the development of agriculture and cattle-dealing. Definitely, a state which shows the strong spirit of the “Venezuelan plain-man”.
