Guarico is a plain state which takes in the 19.2% of the national territory. It takes its name from the Guarico River, which starts its flows in the Carabobo State. The main economical activity is the agriculture and the cattle deal thanks to its geography that is basically plane and its hydrography where rivers and water reservoirs can be found, it is a zone easy to be developed. Besides, in the last few years an invasion of modern agricultural business can obtain greater productions of rice, corn and sorghum with crops in over 420.000 hectares.
The capital city of the state is “San Juan de los Morros”, clearly identified by the Natural Monument Arístides Rojas, better known as the Big Round Rocks of San Juan, and it is the second most inhabited city of the state, right behind Calabozo city.
